I could tell you about how my art has been influenced by Zen Buddhism, Jungian Psychology, Existentialism and Hans Hofmann’s views on the nature of two-dimensional art. I could tell you about how I perceive the visual world in terms of a field of interlocking and contrasting colors and shapes. I could tell you about the personal and transforming nature of art making. Finally, I could tell you how all these things I have mentioned above converge and synthesize with other aesthetic concerns to form my artistic vision. But when everything is said and done, the only thing that matters is to create a sustained and enduring presence – a presence that expresses an intrinsic value that cannot be defined, but only experienced.
